Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Hazard of being struck by a falling load (a)On April 13,1996 at approximately 10:00 a.m. at the Edgewater Mall in the East parking lot. A well point machine was being lifted over an employee's head when the chain it was being suspended by came off the bucket dropping the load onto the employee. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard: Do not lift suspended loads over employee's heads.ee's
