Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: Employees were required to walk a 6 inch beam a distance of approximately 8 feet for access to the overhead crane. Among other methods one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to install a platform/runway equipped with standard guardrail which provides safe access for employees who service and/or maintain the overhead crane.O/A 05/15/95.
