Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) 1st floor 39 Ericson Place, New York, N.Y. - Hazard of uncontrolled rotating parts striking employee or clothing caught by machine and not being able to shut-off machine Rigid 300 no foot pedal; on or about 8/12/93. Abatement Note: Among other method, one feasible and accepted method to correct this hazard is to provide momentary contact device, (switch, foot pedal) as require in ANSI B205.1 1982 Section 4.4.
