Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a motor vehicle which had obstructed view to the rear: (a)4495 South Curtis Road, Boise, Idaho (transfer site) - On or about April 12, 1994, and at times prior thereto, a Caterpillar front-end loader (model number IT28, identification number 2KC00976) used to move and load garbage at the storage facility, did not have a functioning back-up alarm, did not have a functioning horn, and did not have an observer to direct the driver. Among other methods, two feasible and acceptable abatement methods to correct this hazards are: 1.Repair the horn. 2.Repair the back-up alarm; or, provide an observer to direct the vehicle driver.
