Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrical shock or burns: a) At Crowley Maritime Corporation, on the tub boat Rustler, in the engine room the motor controller relay for the portable water pump was not equipped with a guard. This condition exposed employee(s) to the hazard of coming in contact with live electrical parts. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to replace the manufacturer's guard of construct a new one.

Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment ans a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to electrical shock and burns: a) At Crowley Maritime Corporation, on the tug boat Rustler, in the engine room the knife switch cartridge type breaker box did not have its cover in place to protect employee(s) from contacting the 120- volt AC live electrical parts. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to replace the box cover plate.
