SECTION 5(A)(1) OF THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ACT OF 1970: THE EMPLOYER DID NOT FURNISH EMPLOYMENT AND A PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT WHICH WERE FREE FROM RECOGNIZED HAZARDS THAT WERE CAUSING OR LIKELY TO CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS PHYSICAL HARM TO EMPLOYEES IN THAT EMPLOYEES WERE EXPOSED TO PINCH POINT: A) OROFINO CAMP - AN EMPLOYEE (CHASER/DECK SAWYER) WAS WORKING IN CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THE UNPROTECTED SWING RADIUS OF THE COUNTER WEIGHT ON THE F.M.C., LINK-BELT, TC 108C, CRANE BEING UTILIZED AS A LINE SKIDDING MACHINE, AS PER IDAHO MINIMUM SAFETY STANDARDS AND PRACTICES FOR LOGGING, CHAPTER "M", STANDARD 27, SECTION 1 (Y). AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO PROVIDE SUITABLE BARRICADES AND/OR SAFE GUARDS TO ISOLATE THE SWING RADIUS AREA.
