Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard of falling: (a) Location: Roof Area, South; On 11/22/93, an employee was installing wood blocking and plywood for facade at the edge of the roof and was exposed to the hazard of falling 20 feet. Among other methods, one abatement method would be to use a safety belt and lanyard and to train employees on how and when to use this equipment.
