Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) New Jersey Turnpike, Newark Bay/Hudson County Extension Near Mile Post 2-7, Bayonne, NJ 07002 An impact Attenuator Truck parked in a right hand shoulder lane was located 117 feet 6 inches away from the beginning of a tapered barrica-ded enclosed work zone. Employee(s) were exposed to the hazard of being struck by motor vehicles. The impact truck was not maintained 50 feet away as required by the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. Violation observed on or about 9/25/92
