Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hands of rotating parts: a) Building 44C, Boilerhouse Employees were using a Rigid 300 Electric Pipe Threader, Serial No. unidentifiable, that was not equipped with a momentary contact device as required by American National Standard Institute B208.1-1982, Section 4.4, which is one feasable and acceptable method of abatement. Employees were exposed to a caught-in type hazard. Violation observed on or about 9/1/92
