Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to being struck by equipment at: a) Bethlehem Steel Company, Parkhill, PA; The Series B 966 Caterpillar, front end loader, Serial number 5A2312 was not provided with a working backkup alarm. One feasible method of abatement would be to provide an operable backup alarm that would be audible above surrounding noise levels.
