employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were
free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death
or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to:
a) Employees, engaged in window washing, were exposed to a fall hazard
of up to 22 floors at the Investment Building, 4th Avenue, Pittsburgh
PA. The Petzl Chouca C-23 seat harness and lanyard assembly did not
bear identification marks either on a permanent tag or indeliby
printed into the unit identifying the manufacturer, date of
manufacture and that testing requirements as specified under ANSI
A10.14 have been met.
Feasible and useful abatement methods for reducing this hazard among
others are:
a) The use of a safety belt/harness and lanyard assembly meeting all
applicable requirements of ANSI A10.14.

steel with a corrosion-resistant finish.
Equipment in use was aluminum and did not meet ANSI A10.14.

others are:
a) The use of equipment meeting all requirements of ANSI A10.14.
