Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) Vatroom: On 11/30/90, employees were exposed to the hazard of being struck by the (Chevrolet) Vat room truck which had a restricted view to the rear, while the truck was being operated in reverse. One feasible and acceptable method of correcting the hazard is to install an audible reverse signal alarm on the truck which would operate automatically whenever the truck is backing up.
