Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place to employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: A) Hotel Facility; employees were exposed to a fall hazard of up to 24 feet in that employees were not trained in the safe and proper operation of the Genie Personnel Lift Model PLC-24 Serial #1486-12533B. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abartment method to correct this hazard is to implement a training program on the Genie Personnel Lift in accordance with the manufacturer and ANSI A92-3 recommendations.

Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to only use the Genie Personnel Lift with all outriggers in place.
