Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) 1st Floor Employees were exposed to the hazard of being caught in machine by use of a rigid 300 electric pipe theader S/N 9437, Which was not provided with a constant pressure foot, control switch as required by the America National Standards Institute B208.1-1982 Section 4.4. This is one feasible and acceptable method of abatement. Violation observed on or about 4/18/90.
