Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health of 1970: the employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm in that an employee was exposed to the hazard of falling while working off a pallet elevated on the forkes of an industrial truck 13 feet above the ground: a) X.S. Smith warehouse addition construction site, second floor-pallet elevated on the forks of a lift truck was not secured to the lifting carriage and/or forks, nor was the platform equipped with guard rails, nor was the employee working from the pallet tied off. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is: 1) the safety work platform is to be secured to the forks or most of the fork lift. 2) the safety work platform is to be outfitted with guard railings consisting of a top rail, midrail, and toeboard on all open sides of the platform or means are to be provided to allow the employee in the work platform to tie off: For assistance refer to American National Standards Institute(ANSI) B56.1-1975 Section 513a(1) and
