The Knobs/ buttons on all six control panels were painted over with orange
paint which made
it impossible for an employee to visually verify that any of the
functions,including
safety
features were engaged before placing hand and arms in the machine.
ABATEMENT NOTE:: Among other methods one feasible and acceptable abatement
method
to correct this hazard is to; Remove the paint over legend plates and/or
install a legend plate
or other comparable means to identify the functions of each control
button/knob as stipulated
in ANSI B 1691.1-1990 Section 5.2.1(2).
