Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that on or about 1/12/93, employees were exposed to the hazards of broken bones, crushing injuries or death from falls of approximately 23 feet from the edge of the roof while they were installing the boiler stack: Methods of abatement may include, but not limited to, the use of fall protection systems such as scaffolding or static/catenary lines for use in conjunction with safety belts and lanyards.
