Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employyment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: On site at 271 and Harvard Road: An employee who was hooking up concrete forms while standing/walking on top of a concrete bridge pier was exposed to a greater than 10 foot fall without fall protection. Feasible abatement measures may include, but are not limited to, nets, scaffolding systems, catch platforms, static/catenary lines and gin poles in conjunction with safety belts or other harnessing systems.
