Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: Employee was exposed to fall hazards which could result in serious physical harm or death while walking a horizontal steel support to an access ladder: (a) South east end of Boiler: Employee was exposed to fall hazards and serious physical harm or death while walking a horizontal steel beam approximately 85 feet high without any type of fall protection. Among other methods of abatement would have been to come down ladder and walk over on the floor below to the other location. Also for a walkway to be installed with siderails at the steel beam area for safe access.
