Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employee(s) in that: (a) employees were exposed to lacerations from flying plastic fragments in the event of rupture of PVC pipe which is installed throughout the building, on or abut 4/19/94. The PVC pipe handles the transfer of compressed air. Abatement Note: A feasible method of correcting this hazard would be to replace the PVC pipe with a steel pipe.
