Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to multiple injuries in the event of a dropped suspended load: (a)Manufacturing Area, Rotational Molding Operations - Employee(s) were observed working under the spider mechanisms which are suspended by chains and hoists. Employee(s) operating the controls also left their position thereby further exposing employees to potential crushing injuries. "AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO ENFORCE THE UTILIZATION OF THE BAR MECHANISM TO SUPPORT THE SUSPENDED LOAD."
