Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employee in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard while working on a JLG brand selfpropelled scissor lift: (a)Job site Employee exposed to a fall hazard of 28' to ground while standing on the mid rail of a JLG scissor lift to gain additional height to weld bridging. One feasible and acceptable abatement method would be to insure the use of safety belts & lanyards as described in ANSI A 92.61979 14.2.6.
