(a)   On 11/8/93 At Poughkeepsie Mitsubishi Automotive,
Poughkeepsie, NY,
employees were exposed to the hazard of serious crushing
injuries from the
falling over of chain auto lift (Benwil Indust. S/N 2940) and
crushing
injuries from moving lift arms on Benwil Lift S/N2940 and
Rava Clioli Lift
S/N1609.  Feasible and acceptable methods, among others, to
correct the
hazard is to:
1.    Install or repair automatic mechanical safety locking
devices on each lift member requiring them.
2.    Instruct and train employees in the safe and proper use
of
the chain and screw lifts.
3.    Conduct periodic safety inspections of the lifts as
recommended by the manufacturer to insure that the
safety
locking devices and all other components are in safe
operating condition.
4.    Post manufacturers operating manuals in the service area
for
