Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:
The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment
which were free from recognized hazards taht were causing or likely
to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that
employees were exposed to:
(a)  Hazard of being struck by pieces of pVC pipe ad or
comrpesed air from broken PVC pipe in ceiling of kill floor
over #2 line and in the Frick Room in that PVC pipe was used
to transport compressed air on or about September 8, 1993, and
the piping is not intended for that use.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method
to correct this hazard is to provide metal piping which is designed
for the purpose and service to which it is subjected.
