Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Employees such as, Line Feeders, Hand Filet, Spiral Tally, Spiral Floorman, Filet Pack Out, Chiller Pack Sizer, Rippers and Trimmers have been exposed to repetive motion. The repetitive motion lead to cumulative trauma disorders and related injuries and illnesses - The employer has no writen program establishe or implemented to minimize or abolish future cumulative trauma disorders. Feasible methods of abatement: (1) Establish and implement a written program that outlines the employer's goals and plans to minimize ergonomic problems. An effective program should contain four elements; (a) work site analysis (b) hazard proventon and control (c) medical management and (d) training education.
