Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to:
(a)  Hazard of being struck by pieces of PVC pipe and/or
compessed air from broken PVC pipes throughout facility,
in that, PVC piping designated ASTM D2241 was used to carry
compressed air for use with pneumatic tools on or about
March 11, 1992, and the piping is not intended for that use.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to
correct this hazard is to provide metal piping which is designed for
the purpose and service to which it is subjected.
