employees to the hazard of
being struck by flying fragments:
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe was installed in building 2009 and 2011
Industrial and used to
transmit compressed air to hand tool located at the employees work station.
Feasible abatement methods to correct this condition may include,but are
not limited to:
1) enclosing the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) line in a conduit pipe of
sufficient strength to provide
protection from external damage and prevent employees from being stuck by
flying fragments;
2) install a pipe system designed for compressed air as recommended by the
American National
Standards Institute/American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ANSI/ASME) B
31.8-1986
section 842.32,843.43 and 849.52 (b) Gas Transmission and Distribution
Piping System.
