Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to fall hazards: On November 3, 1993, employees were exposed to serious fall hazards while attaching plates and baffles along effluent weir(s) on gravity thickener tanks three and five. A feasible and useful method to correct this hazard among other methods, is the use of safety belts/harness and life line(s)/Lanyard(s) attached to a secured object.
