Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety & Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that, employees were exposed to serious slipping and falling hazards: Jobsite; Spectacle Island: Employees where exposed to slipping and falling hazards while walking from the pier area to work station while large dump trucks and earth moving equipment were moving pass employees while they were walking. Among other methods that are feasible and acceptable to correct these hazards would be to make a pedestrian walkway.
