P.L. 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to the hazard(s) of getting thrown out of mobile equipment: Throughout the workplace - seat belts not provided on any of the forklift trucks, on or about 06/11/98. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is to: 1. Install seat belts on all powered industrial trucks. 2. Replace the forklifts with forklifts that have seat belts already installed.
