Top Side - Employees were exposed to the hazard of vessel rupture.  The
air receiver
in use was damaged and not showing and ASME plate to indicate compliance
with the
ASME Boiler and Pressure vessel code.  Per the visible pressure gauge, the
compressed
air system was running at 120psig.  If the unit was originally in
compliance with ASME
and properly plated, the compliance with the code would end at the time it
was damaged
and should have been immediately taken out of service and the damage
assessed by a
competent, certified pressure vessel inspector.
ABATEMENT NOTE:
One feasible and acceptable method of abatement is to comply with the
requirements of
the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Section VIII.
