cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to the hazard
of rupturing vinyl (PVC) tubing from temperatures which exceeded the
manufacturer's maximum
operating temperature of tubing:
a) At the plant,  Vinyl (PVC) Tubing attached to a Little Giant Pump, used
to transport hot wax
from storage barrels to candle molds was not capable of withstanding the
temperature of the hot
wax which was approximately 299 degrees F. The maximum operating
temperature of the PVC
Tubing is 175 degrees F.  On September 17, 1996, this condition resulted
in an employee
receiving 2nd and 3rd degree burns on the face and chest area.
