Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to crushing hazards: A) Queen Beverage Co., West Annex; employees were exposed to overhead crushing hazards when required to pass under a 44 foot long section of the roof that had fallen (caved) in, and was hanging withbroken beams supported by three temporary posts set at an angle, February 22, 1991. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method of abatement is: have the sagging roof demolished and removed.
