Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to a fall hazard: (a) Kennedy Elementary Roofing Site - Employees were exposed to falls of over 12 feet while working at or near the roof edge. Safety belts and lanyards or the equivalent were not provided, September 12, 1991. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO PROVIDE SAFETY BELTS AND LANYARDS. OR IN THE ALTERNATIVE: 29 CFR 1926.28(a): Appropriate personal protective equipment was not worn by employees in all operations where there was exposure to hazardous conditions: (a) Kennedy Elementary Roofing Site - Employees were exposed to falls of over 12 feet while working at or near the roof edge. Safety belts and lanyards or the equivalent were not provided, September 12, 1991.
