Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to the hazard of falling:
(a)  At the jobsite at 400 Ernest W. Barrett Parkway NW Kennesaw,
GA; while engaged in waterproofing work, one employee was exposed
to fall hazard, due to Genie Personnel Lift equipment being improperly
erected, on or about March 20, 1992.  The employer failed to ensure
that employees used equipment properly, as designed by manufacturer.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abtement method to
dcorrect this hazard is for the employer to ensure, before using any
equipment, that employees review all equipment operation manuals,
and to ensure that employees follow all erection specifications, and
operation instructions.
