General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: the employer did not furnish emploment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards which were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that the controlling employer on site did not ensure that the three framing contractors provided fall protection for employees exposed to fall hazards exceeding eight feet, while setting trusses. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazardous condition would be to equip employees with safety belts/harnesses and lanyards to prevent possible falls.
