Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employee(s) were exposed to lacerations from flying plastic fragments: (a) Employee(s) were exposed to lacerations from flying plastic fragments in the event of rupture of PVC pipe which is installed throughout the building, on or about 10/31/94. A feasible method of correcting the hazard would be to replace the PVC pipe with steel pipe.
