Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970:  The
employer did not fuirnish employment and a place of employment which
were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause
death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were
exposed to hazards of fire/explosion:
(a)  Metal Shop:  Aluminum dust generated from the sanding of
aluminium on the Ramco wide belt sander, was not properly
controlled
to minimize the possibility of ignition of the dust.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable means of
abatement
to correct this hazard is to install an aluminum dust
collection
system in accordance with NFPA 65-Sandard for the processing
and finishing of aluminum.
