Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: Walkway connecting old and new building; On or about 6/8/93 employee(s) engaged in welding metal concrets stops to I beams, were exposed to the hazard of falling approximately 14' to the ground below. (a) Jobsite: Digital Equipment Building, Hudson, MA., walkway connecting the old building to the new Fab building; Employee was welding metal concrete stops on a beam that was around an opening, when he lost his balance and fell.
