On or about 8/24/01, employees were exposed to a fall of six and one-half
feet from a
Bandit scissors lift #3020 supplied by Demoulas Market Basket Inc. which
was damaged.
Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method is
inspect the scissors lift
as required by ANSI A92.6-1979 Section 12.1, which states that the
scissors list needs to be
inspected as per the operating manual, and make repairs including
replacing the broken pin and
fixing the guardrail on the far end so that it can extend up to 42 inches,
as required by ANSI
