Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) On or about August 9, 1993, at the Villas Apartment complex, located a 2360 NW. 56th Avenue, Lauderhill, Florida, employees are not provided a safe place of employment in that security measures were not taken to minimize or eliminate employee exposure to assault and battery by tenants of the apartment complex. Among other methods of abatement, one feasible method is to install partitions in the office area that will separate the employees from the tenants. Another method of abatement would be to have security personnel at the complex.
