Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to fall hazards by comming in contact with skylights located on the roof: Among other methods, some feasible and acceptable methods to correct this hazard are either to guard all exposed sides of the skylights with a fixed standard railing or guard every skylight with a standard skylight with a standard skylight screen, and assure that all employees required to work of the roof are adequately trained to recognize the serious hazards of falls through skylights and the danger of sitting or stepping on skylights.
