General-duty citation text
Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: Employees at the job site were welding, cutting, bolting cross members/bracing and walking on the steel approximately 14' 11" above the ground without any type of fall protection, this exposing employees to a fall hazard. Feasible and acceptable means of fall protection include, but are not limited to the use of ladders, scaffolds, catch platforms, safety lines, body harnesses, manbaskets, platform lift equipment or any safe combination of the above.
