powered safety locks were not operable.
b.Garage - No periodic maintenance program in effect for automotive lifts.
Feasible abatement methods as noted in the American National Standards
Institute
(ANSI) standard B153.1-1990 among others are:
1.Provide  automotive lifts with locking devices to hold the lift in a
fully extended
position according to ANSI B153.1, section 4.1.11.
2.Maintain and care for the lift to ensure its continued safe operation
according to
ANSI B153.1, section 7.1.2.
3.Ensure that lift operators are instructed in the safe use and operation
of the lift
according to ANSI 7.2.2.
4.Establish a periodic inspection procedure as recommended by the
manufacturer
according to ANSI B153.1, section 7.3.
