SECTION 5(A)(1) OF THE OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH ACT OF 1970: THE EMPLOYER DID NOT FURNISH EMPLOYMENT AND A PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT WHICH WERE FREE FROM RECOGNIZED HAZARDS THAT WERE CAUSING OR LIKELY TO CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS PHYSICAL HARM TO EMPLOYEES IN THAT EMPLOYEES WERE EXPOSED TO: A) THE HAZARD OF BEING STRUCK BY STRUCTUAL STEEL DURING THE ERECTION OF A 100' X 150' X 30' METAL BUILDING AT PRICE & SONS, INC., 5065 ROOSEVELT HWY., UNION CITY, GA 30291, ON OR ABOUT FEBRUARY 10, 1991. TEMPORARY BRACING WAS NOT INSTALLED ON THE NORTH AND SOUTH SIDEWALLS, COLUMNS #3 THROUGH #6. AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO PROVIDE AND INSTALL TEMPORARY BRACING UNTIL THE PERMANENT BRACING IS SECURED IN PLACE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS.
