Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Fill room and adjoining compressor rope - employees work near pressure vessels equipped with safety valves that have not been inspected in several years, nor are they all positioned to discharge at a safe distance from the employees. "Among other methods one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is: 1. Develop a scheduled inspection program (for example: ANSI/NB-S3). 2. Position the release point of compressed gases so that employees cannot be affected in the event of a release.
