Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that: Employees have a possibility of being infected with Hepatitis B Vius and/or Human Immunodeficiency virus through contact with blood or body fluids while performing first aid or assisting residents with dressings and were not offered the HBV vaccination: Among other methods, a feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is: 1. Inform employees about HBV vaccination and make it available to them. 2. Provide employees with information and training regarding HIV, HBV, and exposure control.
