THE HAZARD OF CONTACT WITH SUSPENDED LOADS (COILD OF STEEL)
AND/OR LOADS BEING PLACED ON FLAT BED TRAILERS. CRANE
OPERATORS MOVED SUSPENDED LOADS WHILE THESE EMPLOYEES WERE
IN CLOSE PROXIMITY AND DID NOT REQUIRE THE DRIVERS TO BE
LOCATED AT A SAFE DISTANCE FROM THESE SUSPENDED LOADS.
AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO
CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS TO ASSURE THAT THE DRIVERS ARE LOCATED IN A SAFE
POSITION, OFF THE TRAILER, WHILE SUSPENDED LOADS ARE MOVED, HOISTED,
AND/OR LOWERED.
