Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970; The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which was free from recognized hazards which were likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that, the employees were exposed to falls while working on the Monkeyboard were an Geronimo escape line was not provided: a) On or about June 7, 2006 and at times prior, at 12-U-01-#2/Southern Ute, Durango, CO: employees were exposed to injury in that, a Geronimo line was not provided for employees to escape from the Monkeyboard. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazardous condition would be to install a Geronimo line on the drill rig. Abatement Note: Abatement certification and documentation is required for this item (see enclosed "Sample Abatement-Certification Letter").
