Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: (a) Bow Assembly and Production Area - Compressed air used to power the milling machines and the air press was piped in an above ground 3/4" PVC pipe system that was not enclosed in a conduit or casting of sufficient strength to provide protection from external damage and deterioration. "AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE ABATEMENT METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS: Replace the PVC pipe with a steel pipe system designed for compressed air utilization.
